Welcome our new Impact and Education Director, Sarah Weeks!
Sarah comes to OtterCares after 13 incredible years of teaching in public schools, outdoor education programs, summer camp, and ski school. In her most recent role of eight years, Sarah taught K-5 Media Tech and STEM at a local elementary school in Fort Collins where she was responsible for creating an innovative environment where students were encouraged to create, explore, fail and learn in a fun and hands-on way!
"Being presented with the opportunity to create even more impact on a global scale is something I am extremely excited about," Sarah shared. "I packed up my classroom for the last time in May and joined the Foundation eager to inspire like-minded educators to educate and empower students to give back. Philanthropy is a not just a deep passion of mine; it is a personal mission that I strive to live out every day. I am thrilled to join OtterCares and inspire students to change the world!"
As the Impact and Education Director, Sarah brings her passion and expertise for education to life through philanthropy and entrepreneurship, helping teachers and nonprofits find engaging ways to inspire students to change the world. Sarah will spearhead the enhancement and growth of our philanthropy education curriculum, Project Heart, and is our subject matter expert in entrepreneurial and philanthropic education implementation in classrooms, after school programs and other educational environments. Sarah is available to collaborate on lesson plans, brainstorm projects and be a sounding board to educators looking for fun and engaging ways to incorporate entrepreneurial and philanthropic activities and projects into their classes.
