OtterCares Announces Sponsorship of Pack2School

July 18, 2011

With the back-to-school season nearly upon us, OtterCares is excited to announce our new sponsorship of the Pack2School program. Previously supported by the Education and Life Training Center (ELTC), the program provides school supplies and backpacks to students in need, grades K-8 in the Poudre School District.

Earlier this year, ELTC determined that Pack2School was not a fit with their mission, which focuses on educating adults. However, this program presented a great opportunity for OtterCares, whose mission is exactly focused on educating and empowering youth. Working together closely, the two organizations have ensured a seamless transition of the program, in order to guarantee this important need will continue to be met.

OtterCares will not only be providing funding for this project, but is also coordinating the event and expects to provide approximately 100 employee volunteers from its parent company, OtterBox.

The Pack2School program is unique in that it allows students to shop for their supplies in a store-like format. This year’s event will be held at the Northside Aztlan Community Center on Friday, August 12 from 10am-6pm. The event will feature supply shopping as well as interactive booths from local organizations such as Fort Collins Bikes, Tooth Zone, Team Fort Collins, WOLF Sanctuary, Poudre Fire Authority, Nature’s Own, and Boys and Girls Clubs of Larimer County.

Students must be present to shop for their own backpack and supplies and should provide one of the following forms of documentation to qualify: TANF Card, Quest/EBT Card, Section 8 Documentation, or a Free & Reduced Lunch Award Letter.

If you have questions regarding the Pack2School program, please feel free to contact the OtterCares Foundation by phone or email at 970-372-6223 or info@OtterCares.org.
