Why did you become an OtterCares Ambassador: I became an OtterCares Ambassador because I love the mission and goals and enjoy helping people.

Who or what has influenced your volunteer work (why do you volunteer?): I volunteer because I love helping people and giving back. I was once in a position when I needed help, I had Leukemia and so many people came together to help me stay afloat. I was in awe at the human race and wanted to do anything I could to pay it forward. Also, kids are our future and I love seeing them develop and learn.

Describe a volunteer activity you have been involved in that relates to the OtterCares purpose statement: One of the activities I was involved with was doing mock interviews for high school students. I loved talking with them and easing their nerves about upcoming interviews, answering questions for them about the real word and hearing their stories. It was truly amazing.

Describe your favorite volunteer activity (either one time or ongoing):My favorite volunteer activity is helping my son's school. They were a recipient of one of the grants that we gave out and it was an amazing experience. Getting to see the teacher's face light up and tear up at the gesture was truly humbling. And now, since my son goes there, I can see all the amazing things they do with the money!

Why do you think the OtterCares purpose is important?: I think the mission of OtterCares is super important because it teaches kids that anyone can be a philanthropist and that giving back is one of the most important things you can do!
