OtterCares Ambassador Spotlight: Meet Stephanie!

Department: Engineering

Why did you become an OtterCares Ambassador?: I highly value the volunteer time off that we get at Otter Products and I want to encourage my fellow Otters to get excited about giving back also.

Who or what has influenced your volunteer work (why do you volunteer?): Volunteering provides a deeper meaning to the work that I do.  It’s easy to get caught up in everyday stresses that don’t really matter in the grand scheme of things. Volunteering helps me step out of my head for a while to experience the world around me.  It makes me feel fulfilled, like I’m making a positive difference in the community.

Describe a volunteer activity you have been involved in that relates to the OtterCares purpose statement. I have helped in the Pack2School event several times.  Each time it’s been an enriching experience.

Describe your favorite volunteer activity (either one time or ongoing): I volunteered at an early childhood development center, by teaching 5 year olds about philanthropy. It was really fun to help the kids explore different approaches to giving back in the community.

Why do you think the OtterCares purpose is important? I have always loved the inspirational spirit that children bring to much of what they do.  Children want and need to be heard, by providing the resources that OtterCares does, we are able to empower children to reach their full potential in life.  I feel proud of what OtterCares represents, teaching kids entrepreneurship and philanthropy will better their future, as well as the future of our community.
