OtterCares Ambassador Spotlight: Meet Greg!

March 10, 2017

Why did you become an OtterCares Ambassador: I became an OtterCares Ambassador because, as an aspiring entrepreneur myself, I wanted to promote entrepreneurship in students and contribute to value-based enterprise in students.

Who or what has influenced your volunteer work (why do you volunteer?): I’ve been fortunate to have had a number of people who have positively influenced my personal and professional growth in life, and I’d love to pass along their lessons to others.

Describe a volunteer activity you have been involved in that relates to the OtterCares purpose statement: I’ve participated in a few Junior Achievement events which immerses students in the entrepreneurial process.

Describe your favorite volunteer activity (either one time or ongoing): My favorite volunteer activity is JA in a Day: Start It Up! Because the curriculum engages students in the process of starting a business about a concept that they conceive and develop.  The “spark” that the students get when then land on an idea and see it come to fruition definitely makes the volunteering experience worthwhile.

Why do you think the OtterCares purpose is important?: OtterCares’ purpose is worthwhile because it is often the first exposure that students will get to entrepreneurship and learning that they can create something that truly makes an impact on the world.
