Name: Danielle

Department: Customer Service

Why did you become an OtterCares Ambassador: I have a passion to help people and wanted to learn how to become a Servant Leader hands on!

Who or what has influenced your volunteer work (why do you volunteer?):  My older brother, Tyler, has influenced me a lot to help others after seeing him help coordinate programs at the Aztlan Center for youth and seniors. And even more so working at Otter Products, the atmosphere and willingness to help has put my motivation into turbo mode!

Describe a volunteer activity you have been involved in that relates to the OtterCares purpose statement: Closed2Open was an amazing experience! I got to work on sustainability with Lesher Middle School students.  The 6th, 7th and 8th graders got together in groups and helped make a app, web page, video game or a virtual reality project over the course of the entire day.  They picked different topics and put all there time, effort and creativity to present there project on sustainability.  We got to help them with ideas, motivation and guidance to help prepare them for a presentation that was later presented to the class! We all got to learn together! Was amazed on how intelligent these young kids were!

Describe your favorite volunteer activity (either one time or ongoing): One of my favorite activities so far was working with my daughter’s kindergarten class on Dr. Seuss week! It’s awesome that we’re able to take time away from our job to help kids be creative and complete projects.

Why do you think the OtterCares purpose is important?: I think the purpose and statement for OtterCares is priceless! There’s so many young kids out there that have the talent and creativity but sometimes just need a little inspiration to achieve things they never thought they could! I think with the right resources and motivation from your peers, you can go a long way!
