OtterCares is excited to welcome our new Director of Operations, Gary Rogers. A Colorado native who has also lived in Kansas, New Mexico, Texas and Wyoming, Gary brings 10 years of non-profit management experience to the team. That experience coupled with his passion for making a difference is a huge asset as we look forward to achieving great things in 2013. Learn more about Gary from his interview below:
What sparked your interest in non-profits? I was raised to believe that you should contribute to your community and to help others. Non-profits have provided an excellent avenue to utilize my life experiences, education and training to make a difference. The benefits I have received working with non-profit organizations are, in many ways, more substantial than what I have contributed.
What motivates you? Making a positive difference, helping others and bringing people together for a common purpose.
What do you like to do in your spare time? I really enjoy spending time with my family, riding ATV’s, enjoying the mountains and splendor of Colorado, coaching youth sports, and sporting events – especially baseball.
What do you hope to achieve for OtterCares? I want to see the company continue to grow, work to ensure that our investment in youth provides a substantial benefit, increase the number of youth that we help, and help illuminate how OtterBox employees’ investment of time and/or money impacts the lives of others.
What are you most excited about as you transition into Operation Director at OtterCares? My life purpose is to make a positive difference in everything I do. The Director of Operations position will provide plenty of opportunity to further that purpose. If I can help create a brighter future for kids – I’m all in. To be able to join a quality organization like OtterCares, and work with a quality company like OtterBox just adds to the excitement.
