Our Impact: Mission Spotlight

A Project Heart School from Day One

School/Org Bamford Elementary
Location Fort Collins, CO
Funding Impact Fund
Year 2021

When Bamford opened its doors, principal Alissa Poduska wove Project Heart into the school's DNA — and her students launched the Pack Pantry to feed their community.

When Alissa Poduska took on the role of principal at Bamford Elementary — a brand-new school in the Poudre School District — she had a rare opportunity: to shape the school’s culture from day one.

Partnering with OtterCares and MindSpark Learning, Bamford began a professional development journey around Project Heart, with educators learning to weave the program’s concepts into their lessons and curriculum in an easy, personalized way.

The result is a school where philanthropy and purpose are part of the culture, not an add-on.
