A Legacy of Innovation: Teaching the Teachers

One of our very first Innovation Station grantees in 2015, media specialist Teri used her 2023 grant to train fellow teachers, building a legacy of hands-on learning that will outlast her retirement.

Creating a legacy takes time, patience, and a vision that outlasts the inevitable challenges. Media specialist Teri began building exactly that kind of legacy at Skyview School of STEM back in 2015, as one of the very first recipients of an Innovation Station Fund grant.

Teri’s vision was a space where students were eager to problem-solve with hands-on tools — and where the whole community could experience innovation firsthand. With her 2023 grant, she went a step further, using it to train fellow teachers so the work would continue long after her retirement.

By teaching the teachers, Teri built something that outlasts any single classroom: a culture of innovation that endures.
