Why did you become an OtterCares Ambassador: I have really enjoyed all the volunteer time Otter has given me and want to encourage others to find something they are passionate about and volunteer!

Who or what has influenced your volunteer work (why do you volunteer?): My kids are my biggest influence in my volunteer work. I want to show them that one person can make a difference and any contribution of time, talent, or treasure can make a lasting impact in the community.

Describe a volunteer activity you have been involved in that relates to the OtterCares purpose statement: During closed2Open in 2018, I taught the Project Heart curriculum to elementary aged children. I thought this was a great experience for both the kids and myself!

Describe your favorite volunteer activity (either one time or ongoing): I volunteer weekly at my children’s school and absolutely love it. I’ve gotten to know their teachers, the school administration, and the kids a lot better and can see the positive impact my presence has on the school.

Why do you think the OtterCares purpose is important?: Children really are our future and anything we can do to make sure the next generation understands how they can make a positive and lasting impact will make the world a better place for everyone.
