Students design and build machines that turn everyday plastics into reusable goods — then donate the machines to communities in need.

Precious Plastics is an open-source plastics recycling program that Colorado Early Colleges brought into their school to sharpen students’ entrepreneurial skills.

Students move through the full design process to build their own recycling machine — then donate that machine to a community in need. The result is a project that teaches engineering and enterprise while keeping plastic out of landfills.

It’s sustainability, entrepreneurship, and generosity, all in one hands-on build.
